The system is formed of a Control Unit UCE40 (fitted with display and keypad) and of various peripheral devices with dedicated functions (gas sensors, alarm input modules MID40, display modules MDD40, relay output modules MAR40) that share data via dedicated communication BUS.
The following gas sensors are available:
- URx41xE with ATEX certification d
- URx41xS with ATEX certification n
- URx41xI in IP65 execution
- URx41xL in IP55 execution
Main purposes of the system are:
- Centralise, via dedicated communication BUS, all the operating data of the gas sensors (measurements, residual life, etc) and all the alarms set off by those sensors and by the other peripheral devices of the system connected to the Control Unit
- Activate, in the event of alarm, warning signals and/or external systems (light signals, sirens, ventilation systems, etc.) via dedicated relay outputs fitted into the Control Unit, or via dedicated peripheral output modules. This way, the system warns of alarm and hazard conditions, and independently activates dedicated procedures for the safety of workers and plants
- Configure plant operating areas or zones by creating sets of peripheral devices whose alarm conditions can activate localised protection devices and/or equipment. For that purpose, the Control Unit can be used to associate one or more output modules to each sensor or set of sensors
- Geographically distribute the information relating to the status of an operational area or zone to the system through dedicated interface modules, each one with its own display and keypad for data scrolling
